Is Visiting the Temple Mount Kosher?
בס"ד
by Rabbi Ephraim Sprecher, Dean of Students, Diaspora Yeshiva
An old Sefer Published 125 years ago by the Rosh Yeshiva of Eitz Chaim in Yerushliam Rabbi Moshe Nechemia Kahanov a Leader in the times of Rav Shmuel Salant and reb Meir Aurbach (famed Author of wedding music Ban in Jerusalem) His Sefer of 300 pages is called Shalu Sholom Yershliam, He states that the only way to know about the inside of Har Habayis during his time is only through looking from high places into the Mokom Mikdash yard No one dared to consider being oiver a Karais Sin!! Additionally he also stated that most people would go to the Kosel Barefooted out of respect AWE when visiting the Wailing wall!! All the old drawings from artists during the 18th century shows men standing with out shoes as required by the Halacha.
There are so many archaeological finds that were made since that book was written, as well as many satellite photos (from high places), that a vast amount of information has be found in the past 100 years.
The custom thousands of years ago was to daven barefoot even in a synagogue. In recent times it is considered as a lack of respect not to cover one's feet. Also to distinguish from the Kohein who takes off his shoes, we these days should have shoes on.
(There is much written about the subject, but the custom now is shoes and socks)
The source or one source : Hashem told Moshe Rabenu : Shal nah nalicha meal raglechah "remove your shoes from on your feet. that was by Har Sinai although i think it is ALSO A quoted SOURCE FOR hAR HABAYIS APPROACH hilchos morah Mikdath see rmbm The korbonos that wee sacrificed in the Temple were exactly for this Kaparah (ONLY when done unintended)Tumas mikdash vikodishov which means: approaching Hashems Mikdash with tumah -unclean going when Tomay/Unclean or "Contaminated" to hashem abode a serous serous serous crime ..... We need re4pentence not more SIN
Around SHAVUOT our son instead of having bd party prayed for AM ISRAEL to do tshuva. Now after that he kept dreaming about the SHEEP OF JAACOV. B'H soon we visit them here in Israel. Now ww know from scriptures that they are ONE WITH US. Thats why Moshe didn't wanted them leave behind. Kivsa Yaacov is a animal with Neshama. No shoes... They feel anoyed by dogs= tuma around.
