Don’t Confuse Me with the Truth

                                                                                          בס"ד
We have mentioned many times from Isaiah 55:8-9:

8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the L-RD.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

Hashem works in mysterious ways, but His plan is perfect. What happens in this world very often is strange to us human beings. We often wonder: Why did Hashem do a particular event the way He did?

Watch this excellent video entitled “Current Events in the Haftarah - Parshat Tazria / Metzorah.” The Rabbi definitely gives some strange examples of Hashem’s mysterious ways:

We see in the video that Hashem caused things to happen in history in the most illogical way that is according to human logic yet these important events happened. There are so many events in history that would beg the question: Why did Hashem do it this way? But one example which a few of my dear readers couldn’t understand is: why do we honor the Zionists today with this Independence Day? After all there are still groups of Jews today that say “this is not how we were meant to get back Israel.”

Hashem's plan is perfect. He knew that we could never get Israel back by giving it to observant Torah Jews. It had to be by giving it to a secular population, especially since Hashem knew that there would be a war as soon as Israel was born again. Would the Chareidim been able to fight the war, handle the world politics, deal with the building of a desolated country (this is actual a long list of items that could only be handled by a secular population).

We now know that 1948 was the start the redemption process. It is brought down in scriptures that when the land started to produce and the Jews returned, this would be the process of the birth pangs of Moshiach. Hashem’s plan was to start the process with a secular population and cause a gradual change from the secular to the Charaidi. That has been an obvious arrangement in Israel since 1948. It was Hashem's plan and it worked, of course. The Chareidim who use false human logic and ignore Hashem's perfect plan as it is in scriptures, will understand it completely when the worldwide redemption occurs and Moshiach is introduced to the world.

I think it is also prudent to understand Zionism. Zion appears in the Tenach 162 times. Zion is another way of saying Jerusalem, even talking Israel. We throughout history yearned to return to our Hashem given home – Zion. Everything we see in the news these days is not talking about the Jewish desire to return to Israel, but Political Zionism, a completely different animal. What Theodore Herzl envisioned was a place that Jews could live without Jew-hatred, without non-Jews. His thought of using Palestine as our home was not because of Hashem’s will, but for practical purposes, a possible place for Jews to huddle together without persecution. This was seen when Herzl also thought of other possibilities such as Uganda. What? Yes, he was just looking for a place, not to return to Hashem or the land that belonged to us. That was Political Zionism, which was from the secular Erev Rav not Jews.

The term "Zionism" coined by Austrian Nathan Birnbaum, was derived from the German rendering of Tzion in his journal Selbstemanzipation (Self Emancipation) in 1890. Zionism as a political movement started in 1897 and supported a 'national home,' and later a state, for the Jewish people in Palestine. The Zionist movement declared the re-establishment of its State of Israel in 1948, following the United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine. Since then and with varying ideologies, Zionists have focused on developing and protecting this state. In other words it has completely changed the idea in the Tenach of the Jews wanting to return to Hashem in our homeland. The last line of the Israeli national anthem Hatikvah (Hebrew for Hope) is "....Eretz Zion, ViYerushalayim," which means literally "The land of Zion and Jerusalem".

Theodor Herzl, born Benjamin Ze'ev Herzl, also known in Hebrew as חוֹזֵה הַמְדִינָה‎, Chozeh HaMedinah was an Austro-Hungarian journalist, playwright, political activist, and writer who was one of the fathers of modern political Zionism.

Should we celebrate Yom HaAtzmaut (Independence Day)? If we look at it as a gift from Hashem, and the start of the Geula that we crave so much, we absolutely should. Everything is from Hashem and the return of Israel to the Jewish people is no different. We may not understand with our flawed human logic why it all happened the way it did, but we will soon when the worldwide redemption, Moshiach, the return of the exiled and the Third Temple and most importantly, Hashem are our daily lives.

We are not celebrating Political Zionism, we are celebrating Hashem’s perfect plan to bring about the worldwide redemption. We will all be in Zion living the goodness of Hashem. Let’s celebrate!!!!

  1. The "haredim" didn't offer any efficient solution to the crusades, oppression, pogroms, expulsions, ghettos, pales of settlement, khmelnytsky genocide, inquisitions, blood libels, forced conversions and massacres that took place when most Jews were shomer Shabbat and shomer mitzvot. That's why people started to go "off the derech" 200 years ago.

On the other hand, the haskalah didn't offer any efficient solution to the beatings, pogroms, hateful propaganda, concentration camps and Holocaust that happened when Jews were supposedly emancipated and integrated into gentile societies with "equal rights", since they believed that antisemitism arises because Jews stubbornly dress differently, eat differently, and act differently, so their solution was to eliminate those differences. Did the antisemitic hatred and slaughter stop? No, it increased. After WWII, EVERYBODY understood assimilation is not the solution.

Communism and the "international revolution" for all the workers of the world who would be united as a brotherhood?? Only brought misery, gulags, dictatorship and death. Fortunately it's over.

Finally Zionism offered our people a REAL solution: to be a free people in our land with a Jewish majority, to be able to defend ourselves and punish those who want to hurt us instead of going like a lamb to the slaughter, always subject to the mercy of the goim. We don't want to be martyrs anymore. And it worked!! For sure, Israel is not perfect, but we have a strong, independent and prosperous country where we can live and die as free men, keeping the Torah without fear. What we suffer today with all the wars, UN resolutions and Arab terrorism is a joke compared to everything what we have been through when we didn't have the medinah. And if your problem is that "Zionism is a secular movement"... well, that's not necessarily the case. There are many religious Zionists who keep Torah and mitzvot just like you, including one of the most important mitzvot which is living in Eretz Israel (Ketuvot 111). So stop complaining and learn from Herzl, who was a rashah, but at least he had Ahavat Israel (unlike many haredim) and wanted to liberate our people from antisemitic persecution and suffering. Or even better, learn from tzadikim who supported Israel like Rav Abraham Isaac Kook, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rav Ovadia Yosef and many others. And if your problem is that most Jews in this lousy generation of today are not keeping basic Torah, then stop complaining and start to work to make more baalei teshuva like rabbi Yosef Mizrachi has been doing for the last twenty years. Hashem doesn't like complainers and people who speak lashon harah against His children, specially when they do nothing to fix the situation (except for burning our national flags from the comfort of an American couch, or in some extreme cases kissing up to the ayatollahs, a despicable antisemite like Gilad Atzmon and other wicked people).

If you can live in Eretz Israel, like in our generation when the land is ruled by our people and every Jew is welcome (and there's no starvation like in the time of Abraham), I don't think you have an excuse to live in the diaspora (which is absolutely impure and filthy). And if you think that the miraculous rebirth of the state of Israel in 1948, the 1967 war and other events weren't performed by the hand of Hakadosh Baruch Hu who runs the world, then you are purposely blind or an idol-worshipper. Almost half of the Jewish people live in the land of Israel, which has no precedent in the last 1,900 years of history! But I'm not arrogant, because even a secular like Ben Gurion admitted that "in Israel, in order to be a realist you must believe in miracles." Some people still say "but muh we weren't supposed to get Israel that way!".... yeah, but we weren't supposed to suffer for 2,000 years either, so grow up. I'm not going back to your dark exile. Happy Yom Ha'atzmaut!

    1. You think I should call myself "mustard?" I do not call myself Chareidi, Chardal, Orthodox or Ultra-Orthodox; I call myself a "Torah Jew."

It is like when I lived in the US and people would ask me: are you a Democrat or a Republican? I always answered: I am an American.

You realize that most labels come from people. As an example:
Orthodoxy (from Greek ὀρθοδοξία, orthodoxia – "right opinion") is adherence to correct or accepted creeds, especially in religion. In the Christian sense the term means "conforming to the Christian faith as represented in the creeds of the early Church". In some English speaking countries, Jews who adhere to all the traditions and commandments of the Torah are often called Orthodox Jews, though the term "orthodox" historically first described Christian beliefs. I believe it was the Reform in the 19th century that called observant Jews "Orthodox" as a derogatory term. The term "Modern Orthodox" is an oxymoron, as is Messianic Jew.

    1. Thank you. This is the most believable report yet. I too believe we are getting close, which means that all good people need to step up all their efforts to bring Moshiach. This is the most important time in history for Teshuvah, Tefillah, Tzedukah, Limud HaTorah, Ahavas Yisroel, mitzvot, etc.

We are close and it is incumbent upon each of us as individuals to do the right thing, turn to Hashem and prepare for the worldwide redemption.
