Aish Hatorah put out these two excellent videos. Enjoy!:
"Crash Course in Shavuot"
A fascinating, big picture overview of the holiday of Shavuot and the Ten Commandments.
Dear Absolute Truth, Thank you for your on going work and elucidation of that well of truth and beauty known as Torah. If I could make 1 comment about the 5 minute lecture by Rabbi Goldhar, itis the actual representation of the Luchot as an arched stone. As you know well, the Luchot were not of this shape at all. And I am being stringent here, if RSh"O gave us our most precious gift, we should not be distorting it with a Roman illusion (our greatest enemies). We should be showing it as it was given. Thank you again, Shlomo
I agree. I've always been amazed and disappointed at how we diminish miracles throughout our history. Whether it is the Luchot, the Sea of Reeds, the Temple, etc or even the Torah itself; these extremely miraculous gifts from Hashem are always depicted as ordinary items of this material world. It does make it easier for us humans to relate, but the extra jolt of spirituality is missing. Moshiach will straighten all this out and we will see the absolute truth.
