The Absolute Truth that I Have Been Avoiding (continued)

I was correct.  If there is any topic that one can get into a lot of trouble and should avoid (especially at my age), it is this one.  I received more comments on the blog and on Email than any other subject that I have attempted.  I am actually very happy that Moshiach is such a topic of interest since I know how important a subject it is to the world.  I decided to continue with some information on the subject and to answer some of the questions that I received.  This should get me into more trouble but this is trouble that I enjoy.

The Talmud (Sanhedrin 98b) tells us the four possible names of Moshiach.  The Vilna Gaon says that these four names are one since the initials of the four: Menachem, Shilo, Yinnon, and Chenaniah make up the word Moshiach.  The Gemara tells us that Moshe Rabenu and King Solomon had many names.  Similarly the Moshiach has many names.  We also must realize that there are two Moshiachs – Moshiach ben Yosef and Moshiach ben Dovid (the one that most of us are familiar with).  Each Moshiach will have his missions to accomplish and therefore each one has a list of requirements for the job.

I think the most important concept to remember is what the prophets said.  The prophets teach that only Hashem is our Redeemer and Savior.  In other places, the prophets discuss leaders acting as agents to save the people.  The leaders at best are servants of Hashem bringing the children of Israel back to Hashem.  After the people betrayed Hashem as their King in asking Samuel for a “king like the other nations,” Hashem said listen to the people. Why the sudden acquiescence?  We are permitted righteous leaders who will turn us back to our True and only King.  The entire purpose of Moshiach, like Moshe Rabbanu, is to guide the people of the world to Hashem, the King of Kings.

That said, let me bring up some questions asked and see how much trouble I can get into with answers.  (As I said with my post on Jew Hatred, if you don’t like the message – please, don’t kill the messenger).  Most of the questions came from the same person Mr or Ms Anonymous (just kidding).

You said: The real Messiah is here. He lives in Jerusalem and will be introduced to the world, I believe with all the evidence, by the end of the year 5772 which is imminent.

You're that confident that you can write those words?? What if you're wrong?
My sources are many and extremely reliable (statements from many of the great Rabbis and Rebbitzens of today including individuals who know who the Moshiach is; the Austistics and others who through Facilitated Communication have been correct about everything they have said since 1997; logic considering the two questions that I had asked on 6 April entitled: "So, When is Moshiach Going to be Announced?"; seeing that all prophecies have been fulfilled that need to happen prior to Moshiach’s introduction; world events that are to happen at the time of Moshiach – Iran, Syria, financial, weather, political, leaders, etc, etc, etc; other sources that I cannot disclose, yet).  I am disclosing limited information since I believe I know who is a likely candidate for Moshiach – meeting all the requirements brought down in Tenach, Zohar, Talmud, Midrash and other sources (if it is the individual of my speculation, I have met him and even have shaken his hand.  That is the statement that I have gotten into the most trouble over.)   I also believe that I have narrowed down to three choices the possibilities of Moshiach ben Yosef.   Based on individuals who totally meet the requirements; some fancy findings in verses in the Torah (including names); statements from other scriptures; gematria; statements from Rabbis and other very telling bits of information.
To answer the question “what if I am wrong about my prospects?”  So what!! My entire purpose of this post was to question; should people be following a false Messiah against Hashem's will? The evidence against the false Messiah is overwhelming and would take me hours to exhaust. Also, read my post of 6 Apr mentioned above. Start with the two questions at the beginning. Ask 10 people those questions and then determine if Moshiach is here or not, even without all the evidence.

Oh, so you've shaken his hand ... Do you know who you are talking about?  I mean, seriously, we're talking about The future King of this entire world!

So, I won't ask you what did the Moshiach look like, but please, could you describe the man that you've shaken his hand?  And don't tell me long beard and black hat please ... be precise

Thank you

Chalom
My reply was not posted but I offer it here:
Right now, the person who is to become Moshiach is a regular citizen of Israel.  He has not been anointed a King yet and since he has not been given the Neshamah of Moshiach which will occur at the time of his being introduced to the world, he is still an ordinary person (though obviously a great Tzadik and Torah scholar) who many people know.  My suspecting him as a potential Moshiach is because of his tremendous accomplishments in Torah, kiruv (outreach – he has greatly helped many) and other factors from scriptures that he happens to satisfy.  My research is extensive, yet I may be totally incorrect and therefore should not disclose his name or description (did you get that Shiloh?).
You cannot claim to know Moshiach.  This discredits your blog

I said I believe I know (not for sure).  See my answers above for more details. I am speculating the possibility (which there is nothing wrong with).
Well done!  (My favorite comment and he or she is not anonymous and I am sure worth more than 10 agarot).

Tell us how G-d anointed him. Then we will know if you shook his hand or not.
There is a potential Moshiach in every generation. The one who will become Moshiach who is alive now only has his own Neshamah and will not been given the Neshamah of Moshiach until the time designated.  In other words, he is a normal human being until he is actually anointed and goes to a much higher spiritual level.  Normal human beings shake people’s hands, Shiloh.  Since the name of Moshiach was created by Hashem during the six days of creation, his name appears in scriptures that Hashem wrote, Shiloh.  Dovid Hamelech was a regular person before he was anointed King (he was a sheppard when he was younger).  Same for Moshiach.  Additional information already has been said above, Shiloh.
He shook your hand? But if your name is Devorah, how is that possible? Or is that a pseudonym and you are really a guy?
My name is Menachem and my beard is long enough that many Gedolim have shaken my hand. Where did you get Devorah?
Sorry, I got to your blog via PalmTreeofDevora and did not realize that she had not written this...my apologies.
Maybe they are confusing you with Shirat Devorah blog or Tomer Devorah

You must have worked on your Neshama really hard and focused for what and who you know....
For those of us who are not "in the loop", how does one stay strong?  I used to be a great cheerleader...still am sometimes...so much further to go.....if Moshiach comes now what if you are still struggling with so much negativity?
My reply was not posted but I offer it here:
First of all I am honored to be confused with or connected to Shirat Devorah or Tomer Devorah.  They are both excellent blogs that I try to never miss a posting.
We learn a very important lesson from the portion of Korach that we just read recently.  When the ground opened to swallow Korach, his sons admitted to the fact that Moshe was telling the truth.  At the last second they did repentance and were saved from falling into Gehinnom (hell).  Hashem provided a ledge that caught them and they were saved.  This is a very strong message that Hashem is waiting for each one of us to accept His truth and His ways.  There are stories in the Talmud about how people achieved their Olam Habah (the World to Come) at the very end of their lives.   Hashem is patient and wants the best for us.  The sooner the better but whenever we turn to Hashem we have changed our future.  By changing your negativity to a positive attitude right now, you have done wonders for yourself and those around you.  Positive attitude is contagious and can rub off on everyone you come in contact with.  How does one stay strong?  Study scriptures and live the truth.  It becomes habit and is quite easy.

I have a question Rav Menachem.  I had a house guest on Shabbos- a very G-d centered Jew who goes to Chabad. We had a wonderful meal (him and our family) but when the wine went in, the truth came out that he truly believes that the Rebbe, Menachem Schneerson z"l is Moshiach. He stated that he, the Rebbe, could get up out of his grave at any time as the sages teach us that a tzadik never dies. He also stated that xtianity and Judaism aren't so different though they stole lots of concepts from us. (resurrection for one) Could you talk about that a little bit? I so appreciate this blog and the Truth.
My reply was not posted but I offer it here:
I too am a big fan of the Rebbe and believe him to be a great sage of the previous generation.  If the Moshiach were going to appear, leave this world and return again, there would be much about it in Tenach.  The Prophets do not, to my recollection, mention such a possibility.  However, as I had mentioned above there is a potential Moshiach in every generation and I do believe that the Rebbe was a likely candidate if we had been deserving.  The more important thought is that there is a good possibility that the Neshamah of the Rebbe is here in the Moshiach that is due to be announced.  I have mentioned that we are spiritual beings in physical clothing.  The important part of us is our soul not our body.  If the Rebbe is with us spiritually in the clothing of the Moshiach to be announced, then the Rebbe is the Moshiach and I welcome him today.
It is said that in every generation there is one who can become the Moshiach when and if the time is right for his coming. As an observant and very active Noahide, I look forward to the coming of the Moshiach. As one who was raised in a very fundamental x-tian background, I know that x-tians want nothing more than to get the entire world to believe what they believe. Living in the heart of the Bible Belt, my life as a Noahide is difficult, but thanks to Hashem, I have access to several Orthodox Rabbis who have made it their mission to teach Noahides in the ways of Torah. May the Moshiach be revealed in our time (before I finish this message would not be too soon).
My reply was not posted but I offer it here:
I too lived in the Bible Belt but found it very rewarding.  I met some super people, Jews and non-Jews, and learned much.  The most important thing for you to know is that Hashem loves you a trillion times more than you could ever love Him.  As long as you follow His ways, whatever testing you experience is for your own good and a sign that Hashem is helping you to get ready for Moshiach.  All of us grow up with indoctrination provided by our environment.  Our purpose on Earth is to learn and live the truth.  As each one of us makes that discovery, we find our pathway to salvation.  Righteous people have a tremendous future.  Keep up the good work.  (I too was hoping to hear the Shofar blow, announcing Moshiach before I finished answering your question – hopefully by the end of the next question -- please, please).
Why can't you say who you think Moshiach is?  Did someone swear you to secrecy?
My reply was not posted but I offer it here:
I’m in enough trouble that I had the nerve to say that I suspect a particular tzadik may be a potential Moshiach and that I actually met him and shook his hand.  You want me to say his name?  They will take me out back and give me a whipping.  Just kidding (I think).  It is not due to secrecy, just respect for the individual.  Until he is officially announced (or not), we will just leave it at my personal speculation.  After the Moshiach is known, I will let you know whether I was correct or off base.  If I am correct, I will tell you why I believed it to be so (not that it will make any difference at that point).
Questions to ask when looking for a Messiah
1.  How old is he?
(Moshe Rabbenu was around 80 when he led Israel out of Egypt.  King David was anointed in his 30's and led the people at a later date.)

2.  What has he experienced in life (wife, kids, family, parents, friends).
How would you connect to such a leader?

3.  Has he experienced war?  Can a man who has never fought a battle lead others on a path for survival?  If he is too young of a man, then he would not have experienced the sweetness of life nor its hardships.

4.  Can a man without a family lead those who fear losing theirs?

5.  How does he live?
He must be well versed in Torah and observe the mitzvot.  He must have a clean means of parnasa not dependent on anyone.  Not a salesman, nor a merchant of any kind, not a healer, nor a robber (?).  Moses did not even take a single donkey from the people.  Maybe a soldier of some sort.

6.  He cannot be openly known for anyone who has met him and embarrassed him for not knowing of who he is for any means would be shamed.

7.  He must be able to connect to all types of Jews and their different observance levels – not just a leader of one type of group but a person who is group less.

What does that leave you with:
A man born in the states who moved to Israel and joined the Army; fought in some battles; is observant in the mitzvot; is married and has children; has a clean means of living and is 100% incorruptible.

The search is reasonable. Access records of American Jews who moved to Israel in the last max 40 to 50 years; joined the Army; had children; are still keeping mitzvot and have a clean method of living.
My reply was not posted but I offer it here (I can't wait to see what it is going to be):
Wow!  Can you ask questions?  Let me do a summary of some of the requirements of the Moshiach and try to cover your questions.
Scriptures (mostly the Talmud) gives us information about what the Moshiach will do and therefore what type of individual he will be.  Be aware that Hashem created the individual and made him exactly what is needed to accomplish Hashem’s will.  Our input is not needed -- Hashem has everything under control.  We are not talking about a job description that people will apply for but, like Moshe Rabbenu, an individual completely groomed by Hashem.  Another general concept is that Moshiach will be miraculous in that he will be a spiritual being that will be the greatest prophet ever.  The world itself will be transformed to a miraculous world of righteous people completely serving Hashem with total devotion.  Some of the things that are known (the list is extensive and cannot be covered here effectively).  The individual (as a person before being anointed as the Moshiach) was born in Israel and born to normal parents.  He is a Torah scholar with a very high level of mitzvah observance.  He is a tzadik to the highest level and lives to serve Hashem and his fellow Jew.  He will not need any military training since with his coming war will be no more.  However, one of the tasks of Moshiach ben Yosef is to take us through the final battle of Gog UMagog.  He, therefore, is a military individual.  I do not recall reading any requirement for age but, as I have said before Moshiach will appear differently to different people.  Age may be a relative thing to the eye of the beholder.  Stay tuned for further developments.  As a leader, he will delegate as Moshe did.  There will be a Sanhedrin and Rabbaim who will be tasked to take care of the people.  Teachers will be at a premium since studying Torah will be the biggest industry.  Most requirements for Moshiach and the world, that we will experience, cannot be described since it will be so different (in an extremely positive way) to what we experience now.
"Has he experienced war?"
King David started out as a shepherd.
See above answer about war.  Thank you for pointing out the previous activities of King David – it came in handy in my discussion above.
What's the difference between the guy who thinks the Rebbe will rise up, and thinking that you have shaken Moshiach's hand in Jerusalem? Is everyone into wishful thinking here??
As explained above: the Rebbe rising up cannot be found in scriptures; but, the fact that the individual who will get the soul of Moshiach is a normal individual today, means that he can be interacted with including shaking his hand.  If the individual that I am suspecting as a potential Moshiach is not him, I still shook the hand of a great tzadik of our time.  "Is everyone into wishful thinking here??"  I certainly hope so.  Having a very positive attitude that everything that Hashem does is for the good is the only way to fly.
I believe Messiah in the United States. So, what is the absolute truth for 1 concept and different believes.
As mentioned above: the Moshiach was born in Israel and the absolute truth about everything is from Hashem, not us.

I started typing this at 1 AM in the morning and except for a break for prayer, breakfast, and learning, it is now 12 Noon (time to go to sleep).  Sorry, I just wanted you to feel sorry for me.  More importantly, keep the questions coming in.  For me to know what you are interested in can only be judged by your feedback and questions.  All I ask is that you be totally respectful and, even if you disagree, be nice – it’s the Jewish way.  One other thing that I request is that you don’t give me your opinion but show me references that you researched to come up with differences in information and supporting information.  This has been a wonderful learning experience for me and I appreciate what you have taught me.

This subject of Moshiach got the best rating yet.  I had more pageviews, questions and comments than any other topic.  I plan, B”N, to continue tomorrow with some additional information and, if needed, answers to your questions.

  1. Hi I hope HaMashiach comes soon..whoever he is? Then we will know :) It is good your post re who is HaMashiach. I am Jewish and dated a non Jewish lady. Her group rejected the Pagan elements of Christianity ie Easter & Christmas etc. She kinda eats Kosher & kinda keeps Shabbat. After a while I found out she was misleading me. She said she wanted to convert to Judaism but knew nothing much about it. Then she mentioned Reform Judaism. Then one day she prayed in the name of Jesus. Then I realised she was not done with Jesus as she had told me. She believe him to be the Jewish Messiah..who will come again. I reearched Torah and read the Gospels. I was happy to be Jewish. The New Testament is not Divine. Did you know the 1st Gospel is Mark and the original Mark which the Church Fathers St Jerome and Esubius had, had no ascension in it..? It was added in..made up. I confronted her. We ended things. She had lied to me..based on a verse in the NT where John says he may appear to the Jews as a Jew and to a Gentile as a Gentile etc. Intentional deception. Her aim was to convert me.. to Jesus worship. And that will never happen! That is why a blog like yours is good- people must KNOW the truth! People need to think learn think study beleve. The Torah is so interesting, just takes some time to look at the text and then look deeper. It is an amazing thing. Her group hate the Jews- why? Because we do not indulge in any Jesus belief. We know HaMashiach is yet to come. We wait. Her group also hate the Jews as the Gospels show Jesus breaking the laws of hand washing, instituted by the Sages. Her group says therefore hand washing is man made Rabbinical nonsense as is all the Oral Torah. They base all their belief on the NT, which has no credibility- they do not care to realise that the Sages had the level of Prophecy which they do not have. Read Acts- it conflicts with Genesis as to Terah being alive when Avraham left Haran- the one book says he was alive at that time and the other says he was dead. Acts conflicts with Genesis (which came first) in a fundamental way.. there are many other examples of this in the error filled NT.. and the NT is the basis for Jesus belief/worship.. makes no sense to me thank goodness. So, people need to know the truth.

  2. Assuming you are correct and that the individual in question is the Moshiach, then which of the following two views describe him best: a beloved G-d-Fearing approachable leader / bestfriend / father-figure who embodies the quality of Kindness / Mercy or a harsh, cold, brutal, zealous and severe leader who embodies the quality of Strict Judgement?

I bring up the question as various topics surrounding Moshiach or Geulah from many blogs tend to be divided between those who (apart from the sceptics) are Chesed-leaning and those who are Gevurah-leaning.

Also and somewhat OT, it says in Yeshayahu 11:12 that amongst many requirements he will gather the Children of Israel from the four corners of the World to the Land of Israel.

Does the final Kibbutz Galuyot also extend to the presently Intermarried (entailing seperation of non-Jewish spouses & children as in the time of Ezra and Nehemiah), descendants of Anusim (both Xian and Ishmaelite), the Lost Tribes as well as others who are unaware that they are actually Jewish?

I ask since I’ve both heard from others that in the Messianic Era, there will be many people who find out that they are Jewish and return to the fold, despite living as non-Jews for many decades / centuries / millennia, which could potentially number in the hundreds of millions.

YOU MUST ALSO REMEMBER THAT THERE IS ANOTHER SCENARIO BY WHICH MOSIACH ARRIVES AND IT IS THE FLIP SIDE OF THE GENTLE WAT AS DESCRIBED AS COMING IN THE CLOUDS WHICH REPRESENTS ISRAEL BEING HOLY AND STUDYING TORAH. IT IS IN THE ZOHAR, I WILL TRY TO GET YOU THE EXACT LOCATION:
MOSIACH COMES RIDING ON A DONKEY WHICH REPRESENTS ISRAEL BEING POOR IN TORAH AND THUS A HARSH REDEMPTION PROCESS. WE SEE THAT BY THE GAY PRIDE PARADES TAKING PLACE IN YERUSALEM AND GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO THE TEMPLE MOUNT AND THE HOLY OF HOLIES THAT EDOM, ESSAU IS NOW KNOCKING ON THE GATES OF THE TEMPLE
MOSIACH BEN YOSEPH (MBY) CAN BE KILLED IN THE WAR !!
THIS IS TO ALLOW THOSE WHO ARE NOT TORAH OBSERVANT TO COMPLETELY WALK AWAY FROM TORAH AND FOR THOSE WHO ONLY LIP SINC OR WHO ARE LACKING EMUNA IN HASHEM WILL ALSO WALK AWAY FROM TORAH !
THIS THEN ALLOWS FOR ERETZ ISRAEL TO BE CLEANSED OF THE IMPURITY
DURING THIS TIME DIASPORA AND THE REST OF MANKIND IS ALSO PURIFIED !!
THIS PURIFICATION PROCESS IS INTENSE AND PERHAPS TWO THIRDS OF THE WORLD WILL BE COMPLETELY CLEANSED
THEN MOSIACH BEN DOVID (MBD), ALONG WITH MOSES USHER IN THE FINAL STAGE OF THE REDEMPTIVE PROCESS.
IN THIS SCENARIO ERETZ ISRAEL IS REALLY PURIFIED !! TO THE POINT WHERE THERE COULD EXIST ONLY 7000 TRUE TORAH OBSERVANT JEWS LEFT !!
WHAT THEN DOES THIS SAY FOR ALL THE REST OF THE JEWS OUTSIDE THE LAND AND ALL THE REST OF MANKIND?
THIS IS THE MOST HARSH PROCESS, YET BY WITNESSING ALL THAT IS GOING ON IN ERETZ ISRAEL RIGHT NOW IT APPEARS TO BE THE VERY MODE HASHEM MAY RESORT TO USING.
THERE ARE SOME RABBI'S WHO ARE NOW SEEING THIS AS A REAL POSSIBILITY UNLESS JEWS REALLY GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER VERY QUICKLY. THIS PROCESS ALSO REALLY SHOWS THE TRUE FALSEHOOD OF ALL OTHER RELIGIONS!!

PS I TYPE ALL CAPS AS IT IS FASTER AND AM NOT SCREAMING AT ANY ONE

  7. "As explained above: the Rebbe rising up cannot be found in scriptures..."

I found some information you may be interested in from the scriptures and from great tzaddikim of hundreds of years ago that claim that Moshiach can come from the dead:

Arba Mei'os Shekel Kesef(page 68) ...written by Rabbi Chaim Vital, pupil of the Arizal....
"Just as we find that Moshe Rabbeinu [Moses] ascended to Heaven, body and soul, and remained there for 40 days...similary, Moshiach [King Messiah] will, through the help of the Almighty, merit to attain that lofty soul. He will then realize that he is in fact Moshiach [King Messiah] , although no one else wil be aware of this. This is the secret to which the Zohar alludes, 'Moshiach [King Messiah] will be revealed, yet no one will perceive him'.

    Sha'ar Hagilgulim chapter 13

In the second to the last Rashi (the foremost explainer of the scripture and the Talmud, printed in every text) in the book of Daniel, (12:12) he writes: "The Moshiach [King Messiah] will reveal himself and then be concealed.... and then revealed once more, and so it says in the Midrash on Ruth and in the poems of Rabbi Eliezer HaKalir."

So it states in the Talmud (Sanhedrin 98b), "If the Moshiach [King Messiah] comes from the dead he will be someone like Daniel." Rashi there explains this to mean exactly what it says; Moshiach [King Messiah] can come from the dead."

And so agrees the Holy Chacham Yosef Chiam (The Ben Ish Chai) in his commentary on Sanhedren 98 in his book "Ben Yehoyada", , that Moshiach [King Messiah] can come from the dead. (he also explains the topic there of Moshiach ben Yosef and how he can also be Moshiach.

The Zohar in Parshat Balak (pg. 203b) states that the Moshiach [King Messiah] will have to "die"' i.e. go to a higher spiritual level, and return again with the new level he has attained.

Finally the Abarbanel states in his book "Yeshuot Moshicho" (Part 2, topic 2, chapter 1) that "the Moshiach [King Messiah] will have to die in order to purify the generation...and he will wait in a spiritual state in 'heaven' until it he rises from the dead, as it says in the Talmud Sanhedrin (98b).

    May he come very soon!

  8. the main way of telling who moshiach is , in the rambam in mishna tora: thats jewish law. he has to be a great jewish leader that comes from the house of king david, and he's into tora and mitzvos just like king david was(that is something way more than most of the sages of our times), and he has to compell all jews to fulfill tora and mitzvos, and he has to fight the wars of hashem(spiritually and /or physically),etc, etc

Your a very sincere good person and "I think" you most likely are onto something, Moshiach? Who know's? HaShem will reveal HIM. Yet to take the effort to desire Moshiach so deeply to compile 80 pages or more with documentation and work is wonderful. May HaShem use you to help bring Mashiach. Shalom.

  13. Yosef's brothers did not recognize him. In like manner "moshiach" is not someone who is known even among his brothers. You provide a living testament for the need of Moshiach ben Yosef. You and your father's have failed to bring about redemption..your time is up, prepare for moshiach ben Yosef.
