When we were secular and living in a goyishe neighborhood, and got invited to Monsey, NY for a Shabbos, we fell head over heals for it all. My wife, my children (teens at the time) and I all came out of the one Shabbos saying: "we want to be like them!!!!" We met that nicest people we had ever met who couldn't do enough for us. The neighbors all tried to steal us for a Shabbos meal. We never saw strangers instantly treating us like family. We wanted this lifestyle. It wasn't until later that we discovered all the great benefits that it entailed, and how Hashem showed us through His servants the true meaning of life and happiness.

Even my 18 year old son compared the black hatted bocherim he met to his goyishe friends and immediately said "I want to be like them." He was in college at the time. Shortly after that he was in a Baal Teshuvah Yeshivah in Jerusalem (and he didn't want to leave there after a year and a half).

Hashem said "I want the Robinson family." The rest was history. Thank You, so much, Hashem.

Note: Betar Illit is not 28 years old, which is another beautiful thing about the city, everything is fairly new and still works. The Absolute Truthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14060786380470453883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-170726902683483449.post-74525267305566185312016-01-07T11:39:57.462+02:002016-01-07T11:39:57.462+02:00Are you telling me that Betar is full of human bei...Are you telling me that Betar is full of human beings who need to grow in their faith and trust in Hashem? You are absolutely correct. But my point is not one of judging individuals (we do have some very prominent Torah scholars in Betar that are knitted Kippahs), chas v'shalom, it is trying to help people by teaching them what Hashem has told us for thousands of years -- measure for measure your eternity will be according to what you do now when you have the time to grow.

I for years joked about the fact that I was Conformadox. I have spent much time attending Conservative, Reform, Modern Orthodox establishments. One thing that all the wonderful Jews that I have met over the years have in common: they all feel that what they are doing is good enough. I call them cardiac Jews since they always said "I am a Jew at heart." Should I be satisfied with them doing less than they could, just because they don't know Hashem or His Torah? Should I have the attitude that "I am alright, who cares about them," chas v'shalom? The only reason I have been doing this blog for 45 months and wrote a book, was to help others. I have made no money in all my efforts, in fact you don't want to know how much this has cost me.

The fact that most people are willing to settle for something less than stringent is not a judgement on my part, it is human nature. But, it is a wish of Hashem that we do something about it. When will we find out that we could have had a much, much more spiritual eternity, being much closer to Hashem? When the testing it over, and it is called too late!!!!!

Let people complain to me now about how much I am trying to get them to grow -- they will thank me later (not that I need the thanks, their growth will be my reward).
The Absolute Truthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14060786380470453883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-170726902683483449.post-39790395218174271822016-01-07T11:08:18.214+02:002016-01-07T11:08:18.214+02:00I also think you shouldn't forget where you ca...I also think you shouldn't forget where you came from And how long it took you And your family to be where you are now. I am the one that advocates for a Jew to feel respected And loved for who he is And that way he can grow otherwise he turns away from Hashem chas ve Shalom. It can be denied but there are people that are turned off completely by the so called frumer then frum And that is not what we frum Jews want right that's why I think we should stop labeling And judging. Betar might function great amongst itself, eventhough there are problems there too that you might be unaware of but I happen to know first hand And that has to do with not feeling accepted nor loved and respected And that is a chilul Hashem that no one is waiting for cause it leads which I know for a fact as Well to unfavorable results. Every Jew is worthwhile And beloved to Hashem And yes of course Hashem wants each Jew to grow in their own Unique way And pace And definitely not by force that's why certain lenencies in dealing with non frum parents And sibbelings are given to keep the Shalom Beit, because if Jews are not united we have absolutely nothing. No blessing can come our way, despite of the frum neighborhoods doing so great. Rav Arzi confirms this time after time to be united.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-170726902683483449.post-21731468397198144902016-01-07T10:24:21.438+02:002016-01-07T10:24:21.438+02:00I believe that a black hatter will see the Moshiac...I believe that a black hatter will see the Moshiach as a black hatter, a Chabadnik will see the Moshiach as a Chabadnik, the knitted kippah will see the Moshiach as one who wears a knitted kippah, etc, etc, etc. Moshiach will be miraculous and very spiritual and pleasing to everyone.

The important thing is how does Hashem see us now. As someone who wants to be as close to Him as possible, one who wants to do the mitzvot as stringently as possible or someone who with less emunah says what I do is good enough? Please, please go by Hashem's opinion on everything not the opinions you see on the web. Stop trying to hurt fellow Jews by telling them it is OK to do less.

How we should dress and what the deeper meaning about our appearance, and everything else we do, is brought down in scriptures, in other words, it is Hashem's opinion.

It is the most crucial time in history and in each of our lives to come as close to Hashem as possible, not to settle for less, which is exactly what you are advocating -- it is not nice to do this to your fellow Jew. It is not labeling, it is proof that living in a community that is completely observing the absolute truth will be far better. Are there exceptions? There has to be for Hashem to maintain a random looking world. What are my chances of not being as happy in a mixed neighborhood as opposed to a Torah community? Very high. Yet, is there a chance? Yes. But please don't live you life based on very small probability of happiness, when Hashem tells us how to maximize the probability.

The place that I presently live is the 26th place that I have lived in my life. Yes, the military moved us around a lot, but it gave me such a feel, on three different continents, where the best place is for a Jewish family. I also can tell you that the world today is nowhere near the world of the 1940's and 50's, the time of my childhood. People were much, much nicer then. It wasn't as cutthroat. People helped each other then; and, the authorities, such as the government, the police, the medical profession, etc were all more caring than today. I missed the good old days, until I started to live in a Torah observant community. I am back in the wonderful, caring times of my childhood. You don't have a comparison. But, I certainly have seen it all. I thank Hashem everyday for my situation, and encourage the world Jewry to enjoy the same. The amount of chesed she has received was absolutely overwhelming. In the other neighborhood they wanted to help for money. Her Son a child that is very independent And very energetic was treated like a crazy/like he was in prison. They locked him up in rooms etc. Because he didn't fit in. The kids all loved him The teaches wanted to put him on ritalin. Finally she found a school after terrible comotion that turned her Life upsite down. The democratic school. For The first time he started to get back to himself And became The child he really is a big sweetheart that helps his Mother plays beautifully with children all ages And is beloved at school. Today he slipped And broke his arm. The school immediately said they would pay for all. Another Teacher gave her taxi money. Neighbors The woman working in The high court immediately offered to drive them to The hospital. This is just one example of The tremendous kindness that is done in a neighborhood that is supposed to be labeled as "modern orthodox/conservative. I truly think we Jews have to be so careful with labeling And judging. Hashem truly loves every Jew. The Rabbi of our shul said not every Jew is or had to be at The same level. When I lived in Lakewood, I invited many, many secular families and individuals for Shabbos just to shock them into realizing how wonderful Jews are and how wonderful an observant Jewish lifestyle is -- the solution to all our problems. If you don't believe that, you are doing it incorrectly.

There is such a great difference between Lakewood and my present home in Israel. I lived in a completely observant development in Lakewood, but it didn't stop the crime. Many incidents of violence and theft happened against the Torah community, against my friends and neighbors.

My list of improvements in moving to Israel is very long. I have mentioned that I live in a city that has no crime, no police force, no terror, no Xmas decorations, no TV, the schools don't allow computers to be available to their students, the streets are closed off completely on Shabbos and Yom Tov, the neighbors are so friendly, they talk to each other, they are very happy people and they help each other, the government helps about 500 poor families every month, THE CHILDREN ARE INDOCTRINATED FROM BIRTH TO BE GOOD JEWS, AND DO NOT KNOW OF SECULAR WAYS (my grandchildren never saw a TV, never hear a radio, but have lots of books which they can't get enough of, and they are extremely happy). This list is very long of great improvements in our lives. Total immersion in a Jewish lifestyle, living completely with Torah is the ultimate form of happiness in this world. We also have beautiful weather, clean air, clean water and very, very good food.

Being close to Hashem is not a goal, but a reality that we experience every day. The Rabbi and Rebbitsin were The most devoted And nicest people And they truly excepted and loved each Jew stepping a foot inside the shul. It was amazing how people started changing for the better and how you saw little changes in their behavior. All people loved the shul and each other it was true paradise and still is.
