Rav Chaim Kanievsky: Lo Lefacheid

Tuesday November 20, 2012 8:24 AM

While neighboring Tel Aviv is being targeted by Gaza’s terror organizations, Maran Rav Chaim Kanievsky has issued a calming message to the residents of Bnei Brak, stating that the city will not be hit by rockets.
Rav Chaim’s statement was published as a letter on the front page of the Israeli Yated Ne’eman daily.

“When the Chazon Ish said that there will be no bombs in Bnei Brak… that will certainly happen today too,” Rav Chaim said.
“There is nothing to be afraid of,” said Rav Chaim.
Rav Chaim had previously advised a talmid from a yeshiva in southern Israel to remain in Bnei Brak.
Interestingly, during the first Gulf War, missiles hit all the cities surrounding Bnei Brak, but not a single missile landed inside Bnei Brak.

  2. Something about this bothers me.
And what about the rest of the country .....?
Should Israelis abandon their home and travel to live with our Bnei Brak neighbors?

    1. Actually, most of Israel is not affected by the activity in the South. Trust Hashem that each individual will be taken care of measure for measure as an individual. The people in my city, as an example, who are virtually all Torah Jews (it is a completely Chareidi city) are very much oblivious to what is going on. There is no television here, very few have radios, or wouldn't listen to them if they did, and a majority of residence don't have computers. Many that do have computers, are for employment purposes and use a Kosher provider that filters out all the junk. Most do not even check the news. There are many other communities in Israel like mine. Rav Chaim mentioned Bnei Brak because it is where he lives and it is right next to Tel Aviv which has been seeing rocket activity. The miracle of the almost completely Chareidi Bnei Brak is that it was also in harm's way during the Gulf war and saw no scud activity. It is a testimonial to what I have been saying: Hashem protects those who follow His ways. There are many miraculous examples of this that gives one chizuk of Hashem's protection and help.
